    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  recognize the Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership program for
    1-4  its imaginative and progressive response to the need to prepare
    1-5  young agribusiness professionals to become more effective leaders;
    1-6  and
    1-7        WHEREAS, The program provides exposure to a wide range of
    1-8  issues vital to the future of Texas agriculture through seminars
    1-9  and field studies, including experiences that take place out of
   1-10  the country, to broaden the participants' knowledge of marketing,
   1-11  international trade, environment, and consumer concerns; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, This innovative program seeks to meet the needs of
   1-13  young men and women associated with agriculture who have the
   1-14  potential to become leaders at the local, state, and national
   1-15  levels and become catalysts for change; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, This  program seeks to improve the communicative
   1-17  skills of participants so that they can become more effective
   1-18  spokespersons for Texas agriculture, based on their knowledge of
   1-19  a wide range of economic, social, and cultural issues facing the
   1-20  state in the years ahead; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership is part of
   1-22  the Texas Agricultural Extension Service commitment to improved
   1-23  educational opportunity for young men and women; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Constructing a solid base for leadership for Texas
    2-2  agriculture during a period of immense change and challenge is
    2-3  being superbly addressed by the Texas Agricultural Lifetime
    2-4  Leadership program; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  74th Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Agricultural Lifetime
    2-7  Leadership program for its immeasurable contributions to the
    2-8  citizens of Texas and the nation; and, be it further
    2-9        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this
   2-10  impressive program as an expression of high regard and esteem from
   2-11  the Texas Senate.
