No. 167 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Gregory Pappas 1-5 WHEREAS, The recent passing of Gregory Pappas on Sunday, 1-6 February 5, 1995, at the age of 45 has brought a great loss to the 1-7 many friends and relatives of this highly respected Harris County 1-8 businessman; and 1-9 WHEREAS, A native Texan, this outstanding individual brought 1-10 his exceptional abilities to bear while successfully owning and 1-11 operating the Pappas restaurant firm with his family and helping 1-12 the Pappas family business grow to over 40 restaurants across the 1-13 state; his love and enthusiasm for the business is clearly seen in 1-14 his distinctive designs of Pappas restaurants; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Gregory Pappas graduated from Texas A&M University 1-16 where he served as a member of the Corps of Cadets and was a proud 1-17 member of the former students' association; and 1-18 WHEREAS, A man of deep and abiding religious conviction, 1-19 he demonstrated his faith as an active member of the Annunciation 1-20 Greek Orthodox Church; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Gregory Pappas was a man of rare dedication and 1-22 integrity; although his wisdom and compassion will be greatly 1-23 missed by all who knew him, his remarkable spirit will surely 2-1 live on in the hearts of the many people whose lives he touched 2-2 during his time on Earth; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-4 74th Legislature, hereby honor the memory of Gregory Pappas and 2-5 extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: his 2-6 mother, Mary Pappas; his brothers, Chris Pappas and Harris Pappas; 2-7 and his sister, Victoria Giannukos; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared 2-9 for the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy 2-10 from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, 2-11 it do so in memory of Gregory Pappas. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 President of the Senate 2-14 I hereby certify that the above 2-15 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-16 on February 8, 1995, by a rising vote. 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Secretary of the Senate 2-19 ______________________________________ 2-20 Member, Texas Senate
