1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 WHEREAS, The occasion of a 100th birthday is an exceptionally
1-3 splendid one and calls for great celebration, and so it was for the
1-4 Reverend W. D. Taylor of Centerville, Texas, on November 30, 1994,
1-5 when he marked the centennial of his birth; and
1-6 WHEREAS, Honored by Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church
1-7 for his long life and fruitful ministry on November 26, 1994,
1-8 W. D. Taylor is known as Brother Dee Taylor around Central East
1-9 Texas and Louisiana; he has the distinction of being the second
1-10 oldest ordained Assembly of God minister alive today; and
1-11 WHEREAS, The highly esteemed clergyman has pioneered many
1-12 churches through the years and continues to write church songs as
1-13 part of his ministry; and
1-14 WHEREAS, Blessed with good health and a multitude of friends,
1-15 Brother Taylor is noted for his enthusiasm for living each day to
1-16 the fullest; and
1-17 WHEREAS, He has been and continues to be an inspiration and a
1-18 spiritual force in the lives of all those who have had the privilege
1-19 of knowing this remarkable individual; and
1-20 WHEREAS, A warm and compassionate gentleman, Brother Taylor
1-21 is a source of wisdom, guidance, and encouragement to those who
1-22 reach out to him; now, therefore, be it
1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-1 74th Legislature, hereby declare Brother Dee Taylor a treasured
2-2 citizen of his town and state, with best wishes for his continued
2-3 health and happiness; and, be it further
2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
2-5 Reverend W. D. Taylor as a token of the esteem of the Texas Senate.
