    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
    1-3  welcoming to Texas the nine German students from the University
    1-4  of Hannover in Hannover, Germany, who are participating in the
    1-5  Southwest Texas State University student exchange program; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The students from Germany and J. Miller Jones, a
    1-7  professor from the English Department at the University of
    1-8  Hannover, are visiting Texas and Southwest Texas State University
    1-9  from February 10 until March 10; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Dr. Lawrence Estaville, Chairman of the Geography
   1-11  and Planning Department at Southwest Texas State University,
   1-12  and Dr. James F. Petersen, Professor of Geography, are assisting
   1-13  the students and guiding them with their studies at the university;
   1-14  and
   1-15        WHEREAS, This excellent exchange program began several years
   1-16  ago, and its participants are exemplary students who are interested
   1-17  in furthering their knowledge of other cultures and in receiving
   1-18  a first-rate education; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Texans are privileged to have these talented
   1-20  students and their professor as guests in our state, and it is
   1-21  sincerely hoped that their visit here is a productive and
   1-22  enjoyable one; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-1  74th Legislature, hereby extend hospitality and a warm welcome
    2-2  to Christine Oberdorfer, Susanne Giesemann, Isabella Kassner,
    2-3  Marcel Manske, Ellen Osterode, Nicole Otte, Amelie Theilmann,
    2-4  Jens Willing, Antje Wolff, and Professor J. Miller Jones; and,
    2-5  be it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-7  them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
