    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Jerrilyn Lohn Ray, pearl of Lohn, Texas, and pride
    1-3  of Brady, Texas, did leave her beloved family and travel to Southwest
    1-4  Texas State University 35 years ago to be educated toward fulfilling
    1-5  her goals of becoming a teacher and a Texas Agricultural Extension
    1-6  Service agent; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Jerrilyn Lohn Ray did join the Texas Agricultural
    1-8  Extension Service 31 years ago, and for 30 years of her service
    1-9  she has dedicated herself to the people of Kerr County as a home
   1-10  demonstration agent; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Mrs. Ray not only excelled in her role as a county
   1-12  agent but devoted thousands of volunteer hours to a variety of
   1-13  community projects above and beyond the demands of her job; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, An outstanding role model, she has been a positive
   1-15  influence in the lives of thousands of young people in 4-H and
   1-16  Hill Country Junior Livestock show activities; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Jerrilyn Lohn Ray has been a driving force in
   1-18  parenting education programs that have brought renewed happiness
   1-19  and cohesion to thousands of families and contributed to some
   1-20  reduction of family upheaval in many communities; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, She has been honored by the Texas Agricultural
   1-22  Extension Service at Texas A&M University for her exceptional
   1-23  service with the highest awards that organization bestows; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Jerrilyn Lohn Ray has done a great service in
    2-2  keeping Bill Ray, former extension service agent, county
    2-3  commissioner, and retired colonel, married and out of trouble
    2-4  for 20 years; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, The people and elected officials of Kerr County
    2-6  have demonstrated a constancy in their love and gratitude for
    2-7  the outstanding contributions Jerrilyn Lohn Ray has made as a
    2-8  citizen and civil servant; now, therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-10  74th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations and best wishes
   2-11  for the greatest blessings to Jerrilyn Lohn Ray on the occasion
   2-12  of her retirement from the Texas Agricultural Extension Service;
   2-13  and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-15  this distinguished Texan as an expression of the esteem of the
   2-16  Texas Senate.
