    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  extend a hearty reception to the students in social work from
    1-4  the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to the State Capitol on
    1-5  February 21, 1995; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, In a trip sponsored by the National Association of
    1-7  Social Workers of Texas and the Texas Association of Social Work
    1-8  Deans and Directors, these students will visit Austin for Students'
    1-9  Day at the Legislature in order to meet the people who make policy
   1-10  in Texas and to learn how to lobby for social change; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Approximately 25 students who are working toward
   1-12  their bachelor's and master's degrees in social work will be
   1-13  attending this event; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Enrolled in a class named Policies and Issues in
   1-15  Social Work, these students will come here to reinforce theories
   1-16  and concepts learned in the classroom; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, These students who will be tomorrow's social workers
   1-18  deserve appropriate recognition and credit as dynamic participants
   1-19  in the field of social work; now, therefore, be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-21  74th Legislature, hereby extend a warm welcome to the students in
   1-22  social work from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor as they come
   1-23  to the State Capitol on February 21, 1995; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-2  students as an expression of highest esteem from the Texas Senate.
