    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Ronnie Starkey for his recent selection as the 1994
    1-4  Fireman of the Year by the Hearne Volunteer Fire Department; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Mr. Starkey has been serving as the president of
    1-6  the Hearne Volunteer Fire Department for the past 14 years and has
    1-7  been a member of the department for 20 years; he was instrumental
    1-8  in acquiring the grant to pay for the recent purchase of a fire
    1-9  truck; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, A dedicated public servant, Ronnie Starkey is well
   1-11  known for his superior courage and leadership; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Since joining the Hearne Volunteer Fire Department,
   1-13  Mr. Starkey has consistently displayed sound judgment and expertise
   1-14  in dealing with the unique challenges of a fireman's position, and
   1-15  he has made innumerable contributions to the people of Robertson
   1-16  County; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, A man of uncommon generosity and concern for others,
   1-18  Ronnie Starkey is beloved and respected by his colleagues and
   1-19  friends in the Hearne community; now, therefore, be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-21  74th Legislature, hereby commend Ronnie Starkey for his stellar
   1-22  public service and extend to him congratulations on his recent
   1-23  award; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-2  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
