1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 In Memory
1-3 of
1-4 Joe Robinson Barron
1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
1-6 of Bryan, Texas, in mourning the loss of Joe Robinson Barron who
1-7 died January 9, 1995; and
1-8 WHEREAS, He served his country honorably in World War II
1-9 as a major in the United States Army; he was a former partner of
1-10 Barron and Brittain Roofing in Bryan for 20 years; and
1-11 WHEREAS, A man of deep religious feelings and convictions,
1-12 he was a devout member of the First United Methodist Church; and
1-13 WHEREAS, This outstanding gentleman was a member of the
1-14 American Legion Earl Graham Post 159; and
1-15 WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he
1-16 gave unselfishly of his time to others; and
1-17 WHEREAS, His wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not
1-18 be forgotten by those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
1-19 be it
1-20 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-21 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to
1-22 the members of his family: his wife, Verda Barron; his sons,
1-23 Commander William Davis Barron and John W. Ames; his daughters,
2-1 Vivian Leigh Moss and Peggy Ames Calliham; his brothers, Tom Barron
2-2 and Noel Barron; his sisters, Lillian Boemer, Mary Anne Walters,
2-3 Carolyn Barron, Ruth Mae Mullinix, and Shirley Pfannstiel; and
2-4 his four grandchildren; and, be it further
2-5 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his
2-6 family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
2-7 and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-8 Joe Robinson Barron.
