    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, A 75th wedding anniversary is a splendid occasion
    1-3  and calls for much celebration; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. George Scott of Bryan, Texas, have
    1-5  reason to rejoice; since their wedding on December 25, 1919, in
    1-6  Harriman, Tennessee, George and Ann have spent 75 years together
    1-7  in loyalty and devotion; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, After their marriage, the couple made their home
    1-9  in Knoxville, Tennessee, where George was a purchasing agent
   1-10  and Ann was an accountant for a wholesale supply company; they
   1-11  continued to live there until 1991 when they moved to College
   1-12  Station to live with their son's family; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, George Scott is a charter member of the Knoxville
   1-14  Symphony Orchestra and also played trumpet with concert and brass
   1-15  ensembles; Ann is a pianist who accompanied various instrumental
   1-16  and singing groups in Knoxville; they were active members of the
   1-17  Eastern Star; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, The family of this beloved couple joined them on
   1-19  December 25, 1994, to congratulate them and share in their warmth
   1-20  and joy; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, The loving respect Ann and George Scott share
   1-22  with one another is evident to all who are fortunate enough to
   1-23  know them; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, This happy couple was blessed with a wonderful
    2-2  family:  their daughter, Mary Ruth; their son and daughter-in-law,
    2-3  Gerald and Julia; and their three grandchildren, nine
    2-4  great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; now,
    2-5  therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-7  74th Legislature, hereby join the relatives and friends of
    2-8  Mr. and Mrs. George Scott in extending them best wishes and
    2-9  congratulations on their 75th wedding anniversary; and, be it
   2-10  further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-12  this distinguished couple as a memento of this grand occasion.
