No. 251 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Josephina Rodriguez Cuevas on the auspicious occasion 1-4 of her 85th birthday; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A member of a distinguished family whose members 1-6 have served our country through World War II, Korea, Vietnam, 1-7 Grenada, and Desert Storm, Mrs. Cuevas is highly regarded by her 1-8 family and many friends; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Born on February 20, 1910, she is an active member 1-10 of her community; and 1-11 WHEREAS, A woman of deep religious conviction who lives by 1-12 her beliefs every day of her life, Mrs. Cuevas attends Our Lady 1-13 of Guadalupe Catholic Church; and 1-14 WHEREAS, The most devoted of parents, Mrs. Cuevas and her 1-15 late husband, Jorge Cuevas, had the good fortune of being the 1-16 parents of three children: two daughters, Rebecca C. Gaitin and 1-17 Teresa C. Cantu; and one son, Roy R. Cuevas; and 1-18 WHEREAS, This remarkable woman is truly deserving of the 1-19 long and happy life with which she has been blessed; and 1-20 WHEREAS, The endearing memories of her long sojourn in this 1-21 world are evident as she recalls tales of years past; now, 1-22 therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 74th Legislature, hereby declare Josephina Rodriguez Cuevas a 2-2 treasured citizen of her town and state, wishing her many more 2-3 years of health and happiness; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-5 her as an expression of the highest esteem of the Texas Senate. 2-6 ______________________________________ 2-7 President of the Senate 2-8 I hereby certify that the above 2-9 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-10 on February 16, 1995. 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 Secretary of the Senate 2-13 ______________________________________ 2-14 Member, Texas Senate
