    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Leslie Mae Washington Hill was recently honored as
    1-3  the Outstanding Woman of the Year in the City of Taylor for her
    1-4  exceptional public service, and the Texas Senate is pleased to
    1-5  offer its congratulations to her for receiving this notable award;
    1-6  and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Leslie Hill has freely given of her time and
    1-8  energies to her family, her church, and her community; she has
    1-9  exhibited an unfailing commitment to numerous civic organizations
   1-10  that are dedicated to improving the lives of the residents of
   1-11  Taylor; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who is deeply
   1-13  involved in her church, Mrs. Hill serves on the secretarial staff,
   1-14  as a member of the choir, and as a Sunday school and Vacation Bible
   1-15  School teacher; she is also a talented singer who has performed at
   1-16  various religious gatherings and recitals; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Her efforts on behalf of children have resulted in
   1-18  the establishment of the parent group for the Head Start Program
   1-19  and a grant to renovate the community center; she has volunteered
   1-20  her time in the Taylor Middle School where she acts as a mentor
   1-21  to assist troubled youngsters and as a resource person who helps
   1-22  parents improve their parenting skills; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Her selfless devotion to the citizens of Taylor is an
    2-1  inspiration to others and has earned her the respect and gratitude
    2-2  of her associates; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  74th Legislature, hereby commend Leslie Mae Washington Hill for
    2-5  her many generous contributions to the citizens of Taylor and
    2-6  extend best wishes to her in her future endeavors; and, be it
    2-7  further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-9  as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
