    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                           Charles Etta Shaw
    1-5        WHEREAS, The citizens of Corpus Christi mourned the tragic
    1-6  death of Charles Etta Shaw, beloved mother and grandmother, who
    1-7  died February 12, 1995, at the age of 64; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Mrs. Shaw will be remembered with gratitude for her
    1-9  devotion to her family, her friends, and her church as well as for
   1-10  her important contributions to her community; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A native of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Shaw was active in
   1-12  community affairs visiting nursing homes and serving as chairwoman
   1-13  of Nueces County Democratic Precinct 6 for 18 years; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The devoted mother of three daughters and four sons,
   1-15  she was a retired housekeeper who was known for her generosity,
   1-16  industriousness, and faithfulness; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mrs. Shaw was a member of
   1-18  Saint John Baptist Church for nearly 40 years where she taught
   1-19  Sunday school and was active in the Woman's Missionary Union; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, She leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment
   1-21  that will live on in the hearts and minds of her family and all
   1-22  who knew her; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-1  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
    2-2  family of Charles Etta Shaw:  her daughters, Mrs. Loretta Jo Shaw,
    2-3  Beverly Shaw, and Barbara Shaw; her sons, Je'Rome Shaw, Harold Shaw,
    2-4  Alan Shaw, and John Shaw; her sister, Mary E. Coleman; and her two
    2-5  grandchildren, David A. Moore and Jenese Shaw; and, be it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-7  family as an expression of deepest sympathy, and that when the
    2-8  Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Charles Etta Shaw.
