    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
    1-3  recognizing James Jackson on his recent appointment as Director
    1-4  of Facilities at the Port of Houston Authority; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A man of many talents and interests, James Jackson
    1-6  was formerly in the field of commercial real estate and is
    1-7  experienced in engineering, having held several positions with
    1-8  Exxon Chemical Company and Air Products and Chemical Company;
    1-9  and
   1-10        WHEREAS, The wealth of experience he brings to his
   1-11  new position, as well as his superior planning skills and
   1-12  organizational abilities, will be of significant benefit to
   1-13  the Port of Houston Authority; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Mr. Jackson's responsibilities as director include
   1-15  overseeing the port authority's facilities, engineering, real
   1-16  estate, maintenance, channel development, and other services
   1-17  departments; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, James Jackson is an exemplary individual whose
   1-19  leadership and expertise will be of great value to the port in
   1-20  achieving its future goals and objectives; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-22  74th Legislature, hereby commend James Jackson on his numerous
   1-23  worthy accomplishments and extend best wishes to him for much
    2-1  success in his new position; and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-3  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
