    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                       Jacob Albert Wade Lippard
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
    1-6  citizens of Lamesa and Levelland in mourning the loss of
    1-7  Jacob "Jake" Albert Wade Lippard who died January 26, 1995,
    1-8  at the age of 81; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Born in Statesville, North Carolina, Jake Lippard
   1-10  married Lorine Jones on August 24, 1941, and earned a degree from
   1-11  Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, Illinois; he served in the
   1-12  United States Army Air Corps during World War II; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, He was dedicated to his work as the manager of
   1-14  C. R. Anthony Stores for 41 years and was an exemplary gentleman
   1-15  who was respected for his many accomplishments; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A well-known community leader, Mr. Lippard served
   1-17  as President of the Lamesa Chamber of Commerce, the local Heart
   1-18  Association, the Cancer Society, and the T. B. Association; he
   1-19  served on the Lamesa City Council and as Vice-President of the
   1-20  Lions Club; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he
   1-22  gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth,
   1-23  and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him;
    2-1  and
    2-2        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Jake Lippard was a member of
    2-3  the United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and on
    2-4  the administrative board; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, Jake Lippard was a devoted husband, father, and
    2-6  grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
    2-7  forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
    2-8        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-9  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to
   2-10  the bereaved family of Jacob Albert Wade Lippard:  his wife,
   2-11  Lorine Jones Lippard; his daughter, Judy Holcomb; and his three
   2-12  grandchildren and great-grandson; and, be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-14  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-15  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
   2-16  do so in memory of Jake Lippard.
