1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased and
1-3 proud to recognize Ethel L. Amey on the auspicious occasion of
1-4 her 100th birthday; and
1-5 WHEREAS, Born on February 28, 1895, in Helena, Arkansas,
1-6 Ethel was the third oldest in a family of 12 children born to
1-7 Mille and James Amey; and
1-8 WHEREAS, Miss Amey moved to Saint Louis, Missouri, when
1-9 she was 18 years old and worked for the Federal Reserve Bank
1-10 there; and
1-11 WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, she earned the respect
1-12 and admiration of her fellow workers; she retired from her banking
1-13 career after 35 years of service; and
1-14 WHEREAS, A few years ago, Ethel moved to Austin to live
1-15 with her niece, Frankie Amey; and
1-16 WHEREAS, The thoughts and best wishes of her many friends
1-17 will be with her as she observes her centennial birthday; a beloved
1-18 member of her community, she is known for living each day to the
1-19 fullest; now, therefore, be it
1-20 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-21 74th Legislature, hereby declare Ethel L. Amey a treasured
1-22 citizen of her town and state and wish her many more years of
1-23 health and happiness; and, be it further
2-1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-2 Ethel L. Amey as an expression of the highest regard of the
2-3 Texas Senate and as a memento of this grand occasion.
