    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          Jack Sears Hardwick
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
    1-6  of Albuquerque, New Mexico, in mourning the untimely loss of
    1-7  Jack Sears Hardwick who died November 7, 1994, at the age of 52;
    1-8  and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Born in San Antonio, Texas, on August 1, 1942,
   1-10  Jack Hardwick graduated in 1964 with a degree in business from
   1-11  Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, An exceptionally talented athlete, Jack Hardwick
   1-13  was an honored Professional Golfers' Association golf teacher and
   1-14  served as the head professional at Puerto del Sol Golf Course; he
   1-15  was the Spalding National Teacher of the Year in 1990 and a
   1-16  four-time receiver of the Sun Country Section Teacher of the Year
   1-17  Award, an award which is now named in his honor; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Jack Hardwick's love of golf was inspirational to
   1-19  others, and he had an unparalleled ability to teach the game;
   1-20  innovative and enthusiastic, he was considered the epitome of a
   1-21  Professional Golfers' Association member; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman with an engaging personality,
   1-23  Jack Hardwick was beloved by all who knew him and was respected
    2-1  for his expertise; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, A well-known humanitarian and community leader, he
    2-3  volunteered with the Special Olympics, worked with the physically
    2-4  challenged and amputees, and helped the Police Athletic League to
    2-5  introduce golf to underprivileged youths; and
    2-6        WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, compassion, and
    2-7  generosity, he gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his
    2-8  wisdom, warmth, and sense of humor will not be forgotten; and
    2-9        WHEREAS, Jack Hardwick was a devoted husband and father who
   2-10  lived his life to the fullest, and he leaves behind memories that
   2-11  will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now,
   2-12  therefore, be it
   2-13        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-14  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
   2-15  family of Jack Sears Hardwick:  his wife, Karen Hardwick; his
   2-16  daughter, Jill Kristen Spatafore; his son, Kelly William Hardwick;
   2-17  and his mother, Arlene Hardwick; and, be it further
   2-18        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-19  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-20  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
   2-21  do so in memory of Jack Hardwick.
