    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Edward H. Seago
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
    1-6  citizens of Midland in mourning the loss of Edward H. Seago who
    1-7  died February 3, 1995, at the age of 75; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born on October 2, 1919, in Jones County, he
    1-9  attended schools there and graduated from Trent High School; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, He married Gladine Childers in 1939, and the
   1-11  devoted couple provided a happy and nurturing home life for their
   1-12  children; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Mr. Seago served his country honorably in the
   1-14  United States Navy in World War II; after he was discharged, his
   1-15  family moved to Midland where he went to work with Texas Electric;
   1-16  and
   1-17        WHEREAS, He was transferred to several different places while
   1-18  he was with the company, and the family returned to Midland in 1953;
   1-19  he retired from the company as a right-of-way agent in 1982; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Actively involved with the civic life in Midland,
   1-21  Mr. Seago was a member of Acacia Masonic Lodge 1414; he was a member
   1-22  of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner; he was a past Worshipful Master
   1-23  of Lodge 1414 and had served as District Deputy Grand Master; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Always interested in pursuing fellowship with his
    2-2  peers, he was a member of the Right-of-Way Association and a past
    2-3  member of Southside Lions Club; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, Highly respected for his many accomplishments,
    2-5  Edward Seago was an exemplary and distinguished gentleman who was
    2-6  beloved by the citizens of Midland; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, His wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will be
    2-8  missed by those who knew and worked with him; now, therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-10  74th Legislature, hereby extend condolences to the members
   2-11  of his family:  his wife, Gladine Childers Seago; his sons,
   2-12  Edward N. Seago and W. Wesley Seago; his daughter, Yancy Pitman;
   2-13  his brother, R. G. Seago; his sister, Anna Zell Bright; and his
   2-14  two granddaughters; and, be it further
   2-15        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his
   2-16  family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
   2-17  and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-18  Edward H. Seago.
