    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize the Carroll High School Band which had the honor of
    1-4  marching in the inaugural parade for Governor George W. Bush; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The brilliant performance of the members of the band
    1-6  held the complete attention of all who watched the parade; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, The Carroll High School Band members displayed
    1-8  exceptional achievement in their overall performance, the selection
    1-9  of their music, their marching, and their flag drills; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, The outstanding performance by the band members is
   1-11  the direct result of their continuous practice and the adeptness
   1-12  of their outstanding Band Director, Ferris Arnold, and their
   1-13  Assistant Band Director, Carl E. Melton, who both believe that
   1-14  participation in band develops discipline in high school students
   1-15  as well as responsibility and leadership; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, The performance of the Flag Corps was stunning and
   1-17  due in large part to the attention to detail of Flag Corps Director
   1-18  Charlene Hale and the willingness of the members to persistently
   1-19  hone their skills; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Well-deserved accolades also go to the Itinerary
   1-21  Director, Courtney Mlinar, who coordinated the entire band trip;
   1-22  now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-1  74th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to all the members
    2-2  of the Carroll High School Band for their unparallelled performance
    2-3  in the inaugural parade; and, be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-5  the band as an expression of the esteem and appreciation of the
    2-6  Texas Senate.
