1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure
1-3 in recognizing Alfonso A. Leyendecker on the momentous occasion of
1-4 his retirement on February 28, 1995, after 28 years of meritorious
1-5 and distinguished state service; and
1-6 WHEREAS, Throughout his fruitful career, Mr. Leyendecker
1-7 served with diligence and ability to the benefit of the Texas
1-8 Employment Commission; and
1-9 WHEREAS, He distinguished himself as a capable and
1-10 trustworthy leader who earned the respect and admiration of those
1-11 who worked with him; and
1-12 WHEREAS, Mr. Leyendecker began his tenure with the
1-13 employment commission in San Antonio in 1966 where he progressed
1-14 through several job placement assignments to become a supervisor;
1-15 and
1-16 WHEREAS, Transferred to the state office in Austin in
1-17 1971, Mr. Leyendecker ably served as a placement specialist; he
1-18 performed numerous employment service assignments that supported
1-19 the Texas Employment Commission's statewide job placement service
1-20 and in 1987 he became coordinator of the Targeted Job Tax Credit
1-21 program; and
1-22 WHEREAS, As coordinator he worked closely with Texas
1-23 employers and the United States Department of Labor to support
2-1 activities provided by this program; and
2-2 WHEREAS, Alfonso A. Leyendecker set a high standard of
2-3 professionalism, inspiring others by his loyalty, dependability,
2-4 and exemplary conduct; now, therefore, be it
2-5 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-6 74th Legislature, hereby commend Alfonso A. Leyendecker for his
2-7 valuable services to the citizens of Texas and extend best wishes
2-8 to him for a most rewarding retirement; and, be it further
2-9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be provided for
2-10 him as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
