    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  recognize Patti Bishop, a sixth-grade student at Jacksonville
    1-4  Middle School, who has amassed a remarkable record of Girl Scout
    1-5  cookie sales during the last six years; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Twelve-year-old Patti, who has been a charter
    1-7  member of Troop 187 since 1989, has sold a total of 5,004 boxes
    1-8  of Girl Scout cookies; the retail value of these cookies would
    1-9  be approximately $12,510.00; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Her enthusiasm for scouting is matched only by
   1-11  her sales record; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, She has been featured on television on the KLTV
   1-13  news for her extremely positive attitude, and she has also been
   1-14  the subject of a newspaper article in the Jacksonville Daily
   1-15  Progress; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Patti has even shown her leadership capabilities
   1-17  to younger Girl Scout troops by participating in their meetings
   1-18  as a guest; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Last fall, her troop shared a campsite with a
   1-20  group of third-grade Brownies; when it was thought that a snake
   1-21  had been sighted at the campsite, Patti helped carry and relocate
   1-22  an entire group of terrified Brownies; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Truly this act of heroism and Patti's
    2-1  overwhelmingly successful record of selling Girl Scout cookies
    2-2  makes her a fit subject for legislative recognition; now,
    2-3  therefore, be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  74th Legislature, hereby commend Patti Bishop for her unbridled
    2-6  enthusiasm in her support of the Girl Scouts; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-8  her as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
