No. 339 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Daphne Jones Brown 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens 1-6 of Lampasas in mourning the loss of Daphne Jones Brown who died 1-7 February 16, 1995, at the age of 85; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Born December 10, 1909, in Burnet, Daphne Jones 1-9 married Paul Brown on October 21, 1934; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Daphne Brown was dedicated to her work as a 1-11 homemaker and was an exemplary lady who was respected in the 1-12 community for her many accomplishments; and 1-13 WHEREAS, A woman of integrity, strength, and generosity, 1-14 she gave unselfishly of her time to others, and her wisdom, 1-15 warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who 1-16 knew her; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mrs. Brown was a member of 1-18 the First Baptist Church; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Daphne Brown was a devoted wife, mother, 1-20 and grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be 1-21 treasured forever by her family and many friends; now, 1-22 therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the 2-2 bereaved family of Daphne Jones Brown: her husband, Paul Brown; 2-3 her daughters, Paula Brown Henderson and Brenda Brown Clark; her 2-4 sister, Glenn Jones Field; her brothers, Andrew Ernest Jones and 2-5 James Jones; and her two granddaughters and grandson; and, be it 2-6 further 2-7 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-8 the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy 2-9 from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this 2-10 day, it do so in memory of Daphne Brown. 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 President of the Senate 2-13 I hereby certify that the above 2-14 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-15 on March 1, 1995, by a rising vote. 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
