1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 In Memory
1-3 of
1-4 J. Patrick Erekson
1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
1-6 of Corpus Christi in mourning the loss of J. Patrick Erekson who
1-7 died February 22, 1995, at the age of 66; and
1-8 WHEREAS, Born September 14, 1928, in Refugio, Patrick Erekson
1-9 graduated from Texas A&I University with a master's degree in
1-10 education and attended postgraduate classes at Southern Methodist
1-11 University and The University of Texas; and
1-12 WHEREAS, Mr. Erekson was dedicated to the field of education
1-13 and to his work as a teacher and principal; he served as a teacher
1-14 and as an administrator with the Corpus Christi Independent School
1-15 District for 31 years; and
1-16 WHEREAS, He was a principal at Tom Brown Junior High School
1-17 and at Richard King High School; he then served as an administrator
1-18 until his retirement in 1988; and
1-19 WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman, Mr. Erekson
1-20 was respected in the community for his many accomplishments; and
1-21 WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he
1-22 gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth,
1-23 and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him;
2-1 and
2-2 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, he was a member of Parkway
2-3 Presbyterian Church and the Refugio Masonic Lodge 190, AF & AM;
2-4 and
2-5 WHEREAS, Patrick Erekson was a devoted husband, father,
2-6 and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be
2-7 treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore,
2-8 be it
2-9 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-10 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
2-11 bereaved family of J. Patrick Erekson: his wife, Nadine Erekson;
2-12 his daughter, Gail Thrash; his brother, Darrell Erekson; and his
2-13 grandchildren, Erin and Karilyn Thrash; and, be it further
2-14 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
2-15 members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
2-16 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
2-17 in memory of Patrick Erekson.
