No. 378 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The City of Georgetown recently honored 1-3 Minnie Lee King on the occasion of her retirement after 18 years 1-4 of notable contributions to the community; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure with the Georgetown Municipal 1-6 Court, Mrs. King worked tirelessly to provide exceptional service 1-7 to the citizens of Georgetown; and 1-8 WHEREAS, She earned the admiration and gratitude of her 1-9 colleagues for her devotion to her duties and her ability to work 1-10 well with others; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Mrs. King began her career with the city on 1-12 March 18, 1976, as a combination police dispatcher and municipal 1-13 court clerk; she worked the police dispatch radios and dealt with 1-14 the public on traffic ticket cases; as the city grew, she gave up 1-15 her dispatch duties and became a full-time clerk 10 years ago; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Known for her sense of humor and friendly way of 1-17 dealing with customers, Minnie Lee learned to remain calm and to 1-18 handle sensitive situations with aplomb; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Her love for people, her cheerfulness in performing 1-20 every task assigned to her, and her pleasant manner have endeared 1-21 her to all who worked with her through the years, and she will be 1-22 deeply missed; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 74th Legislature, hereby express its heartfelt appreciation 2-2 to Minnie Lee King on the momentous occasion of her retirement and 2-3 extend best wishes to her for a most rewarding future; and, be it 2-4 further 2-5 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her 2-6 as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate. 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the above 2-10 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-11 on March 9, 1995. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
