    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                         Lucendia Turner Mason
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
    1-6  of Crockett in mourning the loss of Lucendia Turner Mason who died
    1-7  February 3, 1995; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born in the Big Creek Community near Simsboro,
    1-9  Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, Lucendia Turner married Ulyses Mason
   1-10  and the couple moved to Crockett; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Mrs. Mason was dedicated to her work as a homemaker
   1-12  and was an exemplary lady who was respected in the community for
   1-13  her many accomplishments; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, A woman of integrity, strength, and generosity, she
   1-15  gave unselfishly of her time to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and
   1-16  valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mrs. Mason was a member of the
   1-18  Bethel Baptist Church and the Eveready Mission Circle; she was
   1-19  also a member of Starlight Chapter 216, Order of the Eastern Star,
   1-20  for over 40 years; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Lucendia Mason was a devoted wife, mother, and
   1-22  grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured
   1-23  forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  74th Legislature, hereby extend condolences to the bereaved
    2-3  family of Lucendia Turner Mason:  her daughter, Roberta Mason; and
    2-4  her extended family, Alretha Davis and Aquevia Fanella Sade Davis;
    2-5  and, be it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-7  members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
    2-8  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
    2-9  do so in memory of Lucendia Mason.
