No. 389 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two eminent Texans who 1-3 have shared 70 fulfilling years together is a splendid occasion 1-4 and one worthy of great celebration; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Tullia Hall and Emil Ischy were married on 1-6 December 24, 1924; since their marriage on that day, they have 1-7 spent 70 years together in love and devotion, and the love that 1-8 they share is apparent to all who know them; and 1-9 WHEREAS, During the first few years of their marriage, they 1-10 lived on Emil's family farm, and they worked hard together; they 1-11 were without a radio, telephone, or a newspaper and learned of the 1-12 Great Depression when Emil went to the bank to borrow money; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Emil and Tullia held onto the farm through the 1-14 Depression and kept it productive through World War II; and 1-15 WHEREAS, They were blessed with a warm and happy family 1-16 life, and their two daughters, Oyce and Frances, were the source 1-17 of much pride and joy; and 1-18 WHEREAS, The survival of a marriage for 70 years, through 1-19 good times and bad, is a glowing tribute to the moral character 1-20 and personal integrity of the two partners; the long and happy 1-21 marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Ischy is truly an inspiration to us all; 1-22 now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to 2-2 Mr. and Mrs. Emil Ischy; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-4 them as an expression of the highest regard of the Texas Senate. 2-5 ______________________________________ 2-6 President of the Senate 2-7 I hereby certify that the above 2-8 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-9 on March 9, 1995. 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 Secretary of the Senate 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Member, Texas Senate
