    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  recognize Bob Lancaster who was named 1994 Citizen of the Year
    1-4  by the Kerens Chamber of Commerce at its annual banquet recently;
    1-5  and
    1-6        WHEREAS, An alderman for the City of Kerens, Mr. Lancaster
    1-7  is employed at Navarro College where he is responsible for all
    1-8  outside maintenance at the main campus as well as at the college's
    1-9  Ellis and Bi-Stone centers and the new Peno Graham Baseball Field;
   1-10  and
   1-11        WHEREAS, This noted gentleman is a past director of the
   1-12  Chamber of Commerce and is presently serving on the Prairie
   1-13  Point-Bazette Cemetery Association Board of Directors; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, He has been very active with the Kerens Youth
   1-15  Baseball Association as a coach for 12 years, served as an
   1-16  umpire for many more years, and helped draw up the plans for
   1-17  the present Community Ballpark; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, This dedicated man donated his days off and
   1-19  vacation time from work to exert himself in the construction
   1-20  of the facility; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, In praising Mr. Lancaster's community spirit, the
   1-22  award presenter cited an instance in which Bob fixed a water leak
   1-23  on Christmas Day in order to restore water service to the City of
    2-1  Kerens; this devotion to the welfare of his fellow citizens is an
    2-2  excellent example of his civic conscientiousness; now, therefore,
    2-3  be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  74th Legislature, hereby congratulate Bob Lancaster on being
    2-6  selected as 1994 Citizen of the Year; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-8  him as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
