    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Honoring outstanding citizens is one of the most
    1-3  pleasurable tasks facing a state legislator; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, It is a distinct privilege for the members of the
    1-5  Texas Senate to pause in their deliberations to recognize 90 special
    1-6  young men from Dallas; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Seventh grade students at Saint Mark's School of
    1-8  Texas, they are visiting Austin and the Capitol on March 10, 1995,
    1-9  as participants in the fourth annual Living Legends Texas History
   1-10  Trip sponsored by their school; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Destined to be tomorrow's leaders, they are
   1-12  embarking on a thrilling voyage of discovery as they witness
   1-13  democracy in action; government classes will come alive for them
   1-14  as they learn to appreciate the problems and responsibilities facing
   1-15  today's leaders; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Our state's treasured heritage and tradition will
   1-17  become more meaningful for them as they continue on their journey
   1-18  to the Alamo City and visit the Institute of Texan Cultures, the
   1-19  Omni, Natural Bridge Caverns, and the Alamo; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, A highly regarded all-male preparatory school in
   1-21  Dallas, Saint Mark's offers its students an excellent education
   1-22  that will enable them to face the future secure in the knowledge
   1-23  that they are equal to any challenge thrust upon them; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, The school's superior curriculum balances a
    2-2  first-rate liberal arts education with sterling physical, moral,
    2-3  and religious training; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, Acquiring a lifelong love of learning, these
    2-5  students have performed superbly on national examinations and on
    2-6  the playing fields; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, It is highly commendable that these young men are
    2-8  demonstrating an interest in the history and government of the
    2-9  Lone Star State, and their visit to the Capitol is truly deserving
   2-10  of legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   2-11        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-12  74th Legislature, hereby extend a cordial welcome to the students
   2-13  of Saint Mark's School with best wishes for a most memorable and
   2-14  enlightening sojourn in the Capital City; and, be it further
   2-15        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-16  these fine young men as an expression of esteem of the Texas Senate.
