    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
    1-3  recognizing Winnie Faye Templer White of Carrizo Springs, Texas,
    1-4  on the joyous occasion of her 90th birthday; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Born March 11, 1905, in Altus, Oklahoma,
    1-6  Winnie Templer moved with her parents and her eight siblings to
    1-7  Carrizo Springs in 1909; the family made their way to Texas in a
    1-8  covered wagon drawn by two mules; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, She married Louis Devan White on July 1, 1928, and
   1-10  the couple had three daughters, Marion Lou White, Peggy Sue White,
   1-11  and Sara Alice White; they have been blessed with six grandchildren
   1-12  and 13 great-grandchildren; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Winnie White has been privileged to witness events
   1-14  most of us only read about in history books; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, During her lifetime, she has witnessed two world
   1-16  wars, the invention of television, and the landing of astronauts
   1-17  on the moon; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Mrs. White co-owned a dress shop from 1945 until
   1-19  she and her partner sold it in 1971; today, she enjoys reminiscing
   1-20  and takes pleasure in the companionship of her friends and family,
   1-21  including her two sisters, Ona Belle Templer Trant and
   1-22  Edna Lou Templer Tisdale; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community,
    2-1  Mrs. White is noted for her courage, compassion for others, and
    2-2  enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore,
    2-3  be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  74th Legislature, hereby join the family and friends of
    2-6  Winnie Faye Templer White in extending best wishes to her and
    2-7  congratulations on the grand occasion of her 90th birthday; and,
    2-8  be it further
    2-9        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
   2-10  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
