No. 445 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great pride in 1-3 recognizing Billie Wolfe, who has been selected as the recipient of 1-4 a 1995 Women of Excellence Award; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The Women of Excellence Awards are sponsored by the 1-6 Young Women's Christian Association and are designed to honor women 1-7 who have made exceptional contributions to the Lubbock community; and 1-8 WHEREAS, A woman of many talents and versatility, Billie Wolfe 1-9 is a well-known figure in the City of Lubbock and at Texas Tech 1-10 University; she was a faculty member in the College of Home Economics 1-11 for 21 years and created the Harp Program in the School of Music in 1-12 1966; and 1-13 WHEREAS, A professional photographer, she is famous for her 1-14 exhibits, research, and lectures on West Texas windmills; she is 1-15 an honorary member of the International Windmill Association and 1-16 director of the National Windmill Project; and 1-17 WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished lady, Billie Wolfe 1-18 is a highly respected leader in the Lubbock community, and through 1-19 her exceptional talent and generosity, she touches the lives of 1-20 many; now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-22 74th Legislature, hereby commend Billie Wolfe on her superior 1-23 achievements and extend congratulations to her for earning a 1995 2-1 Women of Excellence Award; and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her 2-3 as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-4 ______________________________________ 2-5 President of the Senate 2-6 I hereby certify that the above 2-7 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-8 on March 15, 1995. 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 Secretary of the Senate 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 Member, Texas Senate
