    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, On March 15, 1974, at Brazosport Community
    1-3  Hospital, in Brazoria County, Texas, Buster and Jill Brown were
    1-4  blessed with a five pound, 5 1/2 ounce baby girl whom they named
    1-5  Jennifer Erin Brown; Jennifer spent the early days of her life
    1-6  residing at 104 Cardinal Street, 123 Lily, and 105 Redbud Street
    1-7  in Lake Jackson, Texas; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Jennifer began her education at A. P. Beutel
    1-9  Elementary School by entering kindergarten in September of 1979
   1-10  and continued her education in the same elementary school for the
   1-11  next five years; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Jennifer attended intermediate school at
   1-13  Lake Jackson Intermediate in grades six through eight where she
   1-14  played basketball and volleyball, won first place in District
   1-15  Singles Tennis, sang in the choir, made the honor roll all three
   1-16  years, and became a member of the National Honor Society; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Jennifer began the high school stage of her
   1-18  education in the ninth grade at Brazoswood High School where she
   1-19  was a member of the varsity basketball team for three years, serving
   1-20  as team captain her junior and senior years and of the regional
   1-21  finals her senior year; she also played varsity soccer for one year
   1-22  and varsity track for four years; a member of the Texas Association
   1-23  Basketball Coaches Academic All State Team, she was named Player of
    2-1  the Week by Channel 13; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, Jennifer also participated in the Latin Club,
    2-3  Teenage Young Republicans, serving as vice-president, and the
    2-4  Deckhands; she was listed in Junior Who's Who, named a Globe
    2-5  Scholar, was a member of the National Honor Society, and graduated
    2-6  in the top 10 percent of her class; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, Jennifer enjoyed all aspects of high school life,
    2-8  having served on the Bonfire Committee and the Prom Committee;
    2-9  she also found time to serve as a biology teaching assistant and
   2-10  worked as an aide to a physical therapist in the summers during
   2-11  high school; and
   2-12        WHEREAS, Jennifer moved to Austin in July of 1992 after
   2-13  graduating from high school to attend The University of Texas;
   2-14  she pledged Kappa Alpha Theta and has been an active member serving
   2-15  on various chapter committees; she was the Assistant Pledge Trainer
   2-16  for the 1994 school year and is now the House Manager; and
   2-17        WHEREAS, Jennifer is a member of the Texas Cowgirls and is
   2-18  active in intramural sports such as basketball, softball, and flag
   2-19  football; currently, she is a history major and is planning to
   2-20  follow in the footsteps of her father and two older brothers by
   2-21  studying law, hopefully, at The University of Texas School of Law;
   2-22  and
   2-23        WHEREAS, If there ever was an example of why every dad
   2-24  should have a daughter, her dad would verify she is it; now,
   2-25  therefore, be it
    3-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    3-2  74th Legislature, hereby recognize and honor Jennifer Brown on
    3-3  her 21st birthday, and extend best wishes from the Texas Senate
    3-4  and the Lieutenant Governor for much success and happiness; and,
    3-5  be it further
    3-6        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    3-7  Jennifer Brown as an expression of highest esteem and respect
    3-8  from the Texas Senate.
