1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in
1-3 recognizing Carolyn S. Cobb on the occasion of her retirement on
1-4 March 31, 1995, after 30 years of meritorious and distinguished
1-5 state service; and
1-6 WHEREAS, Throughout a fruitful career that began in 1965,
1-7 Ms. Cobb served with utmost diligence and ability; she benefitted
1-8 the Texas public education system for three years, distinguishing
1-9 herself as a caring and dedicated teacher; and
1-10 WHEREAS, A capable and trustworthy leader, Ms. Cobb brought
1-11 to the Texas Employment Commission in 1968 the knowledge, skills,
1-12 and abilities necessary to develop a first-class graphic design
1-13 program; and
1-14 WHEREAS, Ms. Cobb served in the Texas Employment Commission's
1-15 Staff Services Division until 1980, when Training, Information and
1-16 Media Services Director William Grossenbacher recruited her to help
1-17 launch the commission's first paid-advertising campaign; and
1-18 WHEREAS, The agency has continued to draw on Ms. Cobb's
1-19 artistic ability and quality management philosophy, resulting in
1-20 a successful bid to maintain a full-service Print Shop and the
1-21 development of a quality team approach in public information,
1-22 graphic design, and print production; and
1-23 WHEREAS, Carolyn S. Cobb has set the highest standard of
2-1 professionalism, inspiring others by her loyalty, dependability,
2-2 and exemplary conduct; now, therefore, be it
2-3 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-4 74th Legislature, hereby commend Carolyn S. Cobb for her valuable
2-5 service to the citizens of Texas and extend best wishes to her for
2-6 a most rewarding retirement; and, be it further
2-7 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be presented to her
2-8 as an expression of the Texas Senate's highest regard for a lifetime
2-9 of dedicated public service.
