    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The occasion of a 100th birthday is an
    1-3  exceptionally splendid one and calls for great celebration, and
    1-4  so it was for Correna Frazier of Hillsboro, Texas, when she was
    1-5  the guest of honor on her special day; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Five generations of her family came from towns
    1-7  across Texas and as far away as Little Rock, Arkansas, to attend
    1-8  the event; they gathered at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro to
    1-9  rejoice with her on April 8, 1995; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Guests at the birthday party reminisced about
   1-11  growing up with "Granzie" as she is affectionately called by all
   1-12  her grandchildren; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, The esteemed lady was born on April 10, 1895, in
   1-14  Mississippi, but moved to Irene as a young child where she lived
   1-15  until her marriage to Ed Frazier on December 24, 1913; the young
   1-16  couple moved to their home near Brandon where Correna continued
   1-17  to reside for 78 years; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, A warm and personable individual, Correna Frazier
   1-19  has earned the respect and friendship of those who have had the
   1-20  pleasure of knowing her through the years; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Blessed with a long and fruitful life, she has
   1-22  experienced firsthand many historic changes in the world; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Mrs. Frazier is a vital member of her community
    2-1  and is noted for her exemplary enthusiasm for living each day
    2-2  to the fullest; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  74th Legislature, hereby recognize Correna Frazier as a treasured
    2-5  citizen of her town and state, wishing her continued health and
    2-6  happiness; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-8  her as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
