    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is honored today
    1-3  to have Karen Poer and her honors United States government class
    1-4  from Carroll High School of Southlake, Texas, as visitors in the
    1-5  Senate; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Carroll High School is widely recognized as a
    1-7  first-rate institution with a sound academic curriculum and
    1-8  well-disciplined, high achieving students; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Since its establishment, the school has consistently
   1-10  aimed at providing resources, programs, and experiences that would
   1-11  inspire excellence in student performance; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, The visit to the Capitol today by students of the
   1-13  government class is an example of the high standards the school
   1-14  upholds and the excellent educational opportunities it provides;
   1-15  and
   1-16        WHEREAS, The students of today are the citizens and leaders
   1-17  of tomorrow's society who will carry on with the responsibilities
   1-18  of our democratic heritage; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, It is inspirational to see these young people from
   1-20  Carroll High School demonstrating an interest in the processes of
   1-21  their state government by visiting the Capitol, and it is sincerely
   1-22  hoped their visit here is a most enjoyable one; now, therefore, be
   1-23  it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  74th Legislature, hereby extend to Karen Poer and her students a
    2-3  warm welcome; and, be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-5  them as an expression of appreciation of their visit from the
    2-6  Texas Senate.
