By: Gallegos S.R. No. 468 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Phillip L. Ramsey who is retiring after nearly 40 1-4 years of loyal service with Electronic Data Systems; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Phil Ramsey joined General Motors, the parent 1-6 company of Electronic Data Systems, as a co-operative engineering 1-7 student in 1956; for 29 years, he held technical and management 1-8 positions in General Motors data processing and manufacturing 1-9 divisions; his assignments included Buick, Opel, GM Central Office, 1-10 Chevrolet, and Allison divisions working in both the United States 1-11 and Europe; and 1-12 WHEREAS, A talented engineer and administrator, Mr. Ramsey 1-13 was appointed to the position of Electronic Data Systems Division 1-14 Manager responsible for the GM Flint Automotive Division at the 1-15 time of the reorganization of General Motors and the acquisition 1-16 of Electronic Data Systems; and 1-17 WHEREAS, In 1992, Mr. Ramsey accepted the account executive 1-18 position to lead the Electronic Data Systems/Enron activities; it 1-19 was a position of far-reaching responsibilities, helping to provide 1-20 Enron with computing and communications support to their gas 1-21 pipeline, marketing, producer, power generation, and gas services 1-22 businesses internationally; and 1-23 WHEREAS, A man of integrity, dedication, and tremendous 2-1 leadership ability, Phil Ramsey has played a major role in making 2-2 Electronic Data Systems the high-quality company it is today, and 2-3 he is beloved and respected by all who have worked with him; and 2-4 WHEREAS, Throughout his years with Electronic Data Systems, 2-5 Phil Ramsey has had a positive influence on the company and on his 2-6 colleagues in business, and his presence as an administrator will 2-7 be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it 2-8 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-9 74th Legislature, hereby commend Phil Ramsey for his invaluable 2-10 contributions to Electronic Data Systems and extend to him best 2-11 wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further 2-12 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-13 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 President of the Senate 2-16 I hereby certify that the above 2-17 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-18 on March 20, 1995. 2-19 ______________________________________ 2-20 Secretary of the Senate 2-21 ______________________________________ 2-22 Member, Texas Senate
