No. 479 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Nela Talley Basco on the auspicious occasion of her 1-4 84th birthday; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A member of a distinguished family, Mrs. Basco is 1-6 highly regarded by her family and many friends; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Born on March 30, 1911, in Valley Springs, Texas, 1-8 she is still an active member of her community; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The most devoted of parents, Mrs. Basco had the 1-10 good fortune of being the mother of Myra Belle Woods, Johnnie Ewing, 1-11 and Thomas Lanier, and she has nine grandchildren and nine 1-12 great-grandchildren; and 1-13 WHEREAS, This remarkable woman is truly deserving of 1-14 the long and happy life with which she has been blessed; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The endearing memories of her long sojourn in 1-16 this world are evident as she recalls tales of years past; now, 1-17 therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-19 74th Legislature, hereby declare Nela Talley Basco a treasured 1-20 citizen of her town and state, wishing her many more years of 1-21 health and happiness; and, be it further 1-22 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 1-23 her as an expression of the highest esteem of the Texas Senate. 2-1 ______________________________________ 2-2 President of the Senate 2-3 I hereby certify that the above 2-4 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-5 on March 20, 1995. 2-6 ______________________________________ 2-7 Secretary of the Senate 2-8 ______________________________________ 2-9 Member, Texas Senate
