No. 480 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing the osteopathic physicians of Texas and in recognizing 1-4 Monday, March 27, 1995, as Osteopathic Medicine Day at the 1-5 State Capitol; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Osteopathic physicians and hospitals are concerned 1-7 with meeting the health care needs of the whole person and the whole 1-8 family and offer primary care and preventive medical services; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Texas osteopathic physicians serve the needs of 1-10 many citizens in rural and medically underserved areas of Texas; 1-11 and 1-12 WHEREAS, Osteopathic hospitals are patient-centered, community 1-13 hospitals that provide individualized treatment; and 1-14 WHEREAS, The University of North Texas Health Science Center's 1-15 Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine continues to train graduates 1-16 who enter primary care residencies in numbers well above the 1-17 national average; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Osteopathic physicians will be providing medical 1-19 care to Texas legislators and their staffs while serving as the 1-20 "Doctor of the Day" at the State Capitol during the week of 1-21 March 27 through March 31, 1995; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 74th Legislature, hereby declare Monday, March 27, 1995, as 2-1 Osteopathic Medicine Day at the State Capitol in recognition of 2-2 the dedicated osteopathic physicians who give this state quality, 2-3 comprehensive, and personalized medical care; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-5 the osteopathic physicians of Texas in appreciation for their 2-6 outstanding work. 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the above 2-10 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-11 on March 27, 1995. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
