    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                      J. Bradley Shayne Campbell
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the family
    1-6  and many friends of J. Bradley Shayne Campbell in mourning his
    1-7  untimely death on February 27, 1995; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born on January 14, 1976, in Lubbock and the
    1-9  valedictorian of his class at Monterey High School, Shayne was
   1-10  named Top Monterey Plainsman of his school; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A member of the National Honor Society, he was the
   1-12  recipient of the Optimist Club of Phoenix Award-Commitment to
   1-13  Excellence; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Shayne Campbell was the TASSP-Commended Scholar and
   1-15  the winner of the National Biotechnology Essay Contest; he was
   1-16  well loved by his fellow classmates, and he was the Sports Editor
   1-17  of the Monterey Mirror; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, He was a freshman at Texas Tech University where he
   1-19  was a member of the Honors Program; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, While attending Texas Tech University, he was ranked
   1-21  on the President's List; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A young man of deep religious convictions, Shayne was
   1-23  a member of the Crescent Park Church of Christ; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Known for his cheerful smile, he was a devoted son,
    2-2  grandson, and great-grandson whose spirit will continue to live in
    2-3  the hearts of all who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  74th Legislature, hereby extend most sincere condolences to the
    2-6  members of his family:  his parents, Jay and Sherry Campbell; his
    2-7  brother, Chase Campbell; his paternal grandmother, Becky Campbell;
    2-8  his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Cook; and his
    2-9  great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Rushing; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-11  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-12  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
   2-13  do so in memory of J. Bradley Shayne Campbell.
