No. 497 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Leland White of Tahoka has served with distinction 1-3 as State Director for District 2 of the Texas Farm Bureau, and 1-4 the Texas Senate is pleased to recognize him for his notable 1-5 contributions to the citizens of West Texas; and 1-6 WHEREAS, A 1950 graduate of New Home High School, Mr. White 1-7 produces cotton and feed grains in Lynn County; he has contributed 1-8 his expertise to the Lynn County Farm Bureau as State Affairs 1-9 Chairman and as Vice-President and President of the organization; 1-10 and 1-11 WHEREAS, Elected to the Texas Farm Bureau Board of Directors 1-12 in 1988, he has served as a member of the Labor Advisory Committee 1-13 and the Resolutions Committee and as Chairman of the Rural Health 1-14 Committee; and 1-15 WHEREAS, A leader of great energy and enthusiasm, Leland White 1-16 has freely offered his time and talents as director of the New Home 1-17 Co-op Gin and as President of the Lynn County Hospital District; 1-18 for his exceptional accomplishments, he was named "Man of the Year" 1-19 in 1964 by the New Home Civic Club; and 1-20 WHEREAS, A member of the Methodist Church, Mr. White is a 1-21 dedicated Christian layman who has served as a trustee, chairman of 1-22 the finance committee, treasurer, and Sunday school superintendent; 1-23 and 2-1 WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished career, he has been 2-2 supported by the love and companionship of his wife, Barbara, and 2-3 their children, Michael and Debbie; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 74th Legislature, hereby commend Leland White for his notable 2-6 achievements as State Director of District 2 and extend best wishes 2-7 to him for continued success in his future endeavors; and, be it 2-8 further 2-9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-10 as an expression of the high esteem of the Texas Senate. 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 President of the Senate 2-13 I hereby certify that the above 2-14 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-15 on March 21, 1995. 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
