    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                              Gladys Moss
    1-5        WHEREAS, The citizens of Lubbock mourned the passing of
    1-6  one of the city's beloved residents, Gladys Moss, who died
    1-7  February 23, 1995, at the age of 95; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Known for her deep compassion and love for her
    1-9  family, Mrs. Moss made many notable contributions to the residents
   1-10  of the city; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Born on January 10, 1900, in Mount Calm, Gladys
   1-12  was a graduate of Roaring Springs High School; on October 24, 1920,
   1-13  she married Ennis E. Moss, Sr., in Dickens, and the couple was
   1-14  blessed with a long and wonderful life together until his death on
   1-15  October 30, 1963; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, Gladys Moss provided a
   1-17  happy home for her family and gave freely of her time and energies
   1-18  to the community; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Mrs. Moss enjoyed the companionship of others and
   1-20  she was active in several organizations including the Lubbock Rose
   1-21  Society, Victory Forty-Two Club, and the Needle Club; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A devout Christian who lived her faith in her daily
   1-23  life, Mrs. Moss was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class at
    2-1  the Second Baptist Church; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, She leaves behind a legacy of commitment and
    2-3  accomplishment that will be remembered with gratitude by her family
    2-4  and all those who shared her life; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
    2-7  of Gladys Moss:  her sons, Ennis E. Moss, Jr., James P. Moss, and
    2-8  Hoyle G. Moss; her brother, Mike Hoyle; her sister, Lillian Thacker;
    2-9  and her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and, be
   2-10  it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
   2-12  family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
   2-13  and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-14  Gladys Moss.
