No. 503 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Lou Ellen Collins 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens 1-6 of Lubbock in mourning the death of Lou Ellen Collins who died 1-7 February 27, 1995; and 1-8 WHEREAS, She was born on March 1, 1911, in Paducah, and 1-9 she attended public schools in Brownfield; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Lou Ellen married Wilson Lyon Collins on 1-11 December 26, 1938, and together they enjoyed a happy home 1-12 life until Mr. Collins's death in 1979; and 1-13 WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, she is remembered for the 1-14 affection, confidence, and loyalty she inspired in those with whom 1-15 she was associated; and 1-16 WHEREAS, During her lifetime Mrs. Collins established a 1-17 permanent place for herself in the hearts of those whose lives 1-18 she touched; now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-20 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to her bereaved 1-21 family: her son, Richard Collins; her daughter, Linda McLaughlin; 1-22 and her three grandchildren and great-grandson; and, be it 1-23 further 2-1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her 2-2 family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, 2-3 and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-4 Lou Ellen Collins. 2-5 ______________________________________ 2-6 President of the Senate 2-7 I hereby certify that the above 2-8 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-9 on March 21, 1995, by a rising vote. 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 Secretary of the Senate 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Member, Texas Senate
