No. 514 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Bill McCutchen who recently retired after 23 years 1-4 of loyal service as a county agent for the Milam County Extension 1-5 Office; and 1-6 WHEREAS, A native of Coryell County, Bill McCutchen graduated 1-7 from Texas A&M University and began his 34-year career with the 1-8 extension service as a junior assistant county extension agent 1-9 in Lynn County; and 1-10 WHEREAS, He was an extension agent in Hamilton County before 1-11 he transferred to the Milam County Extension Service in 1971; and 1-12 WHEREAS, During his tenure as an agent for Milam County, 1-13 Mr. McCutchen worked closely with the area's farmers and ranchers; 1-14 he viewed his chief mission as that of bringing the technologies 1-15 from the research stations to the farms and ranches to test their 1-16 effectiveness for the producers; and 1-17 WHEREAS, He dealt with a number of agricultural issues and 1-18 counseled producers on a wide array of problems and technological 1-19 and marketing strategies; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Bill McCutchen is hardworking and resourceful, 1-21 and he is respected and beloved by his former colleagues in the 1-22 extension service and by the farmers and ranchers whom he assisted; 1-23 and 2-1 WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, Bill McCutchen has made 2-2 innumerable contributions to the people of Milam County, and his 2-3 presence as an agent with the Milam County Extension Service will 2-4 be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-6 74th Legislature, hereby commend Bill McCutchen for his many 2-7 accomplishments as county agent and extend to him best wishes 2-8 for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-10 as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 President of the Senate 2-13 I hereby certify that the above 2-14 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-15 on March 22, 1995. 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
