    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The occasion of a 107th birthday is an exceptionally
    1-3  splendid one and calls for great celebration, and so it was for
    1-4  Aley LaRue of the Ash community in Houston County, when she was
    1-5  the guest of honor on her special day; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Born on March 23, 1888, in the Ash community where
    1-7  she has resided most of her life, Aley has been privileged to
    1-8  live through many historic events in the world; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, She attended school through the third grade and
   1-10  at age 26 married Tom LaRue on May 29, 1914, in Crockett, and they
   1-11  were blessed with a long and happy life together until his death
   1-12  in November, 1958; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, The devoted couple provided a loving home for their
   1-14  six children, Virgil, Carl, Annie Lee, T. W., Jay, and John; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, A dedicated wife and mother, Mrs. LaRue still "rules
   1-16  the roost" in her home where she has raised a garden all her life;
   1-17  and
   1-18        WHEREAS, A faithful member of the Church of Christ in Ash
   1-19  through the years, Aley LaRue has lived by her Christian beliefs
   1-20  in her daily life; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Well known for her charm, genuineness, and generosity
   1-22  of spirit, this gracious lady is a respected resident of the Ash
   1-23  community and Houston County; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Family members and friends of this beloved individual
    2-2  gathered at the Austonio Community Center on March 25, 1995, to
    2-3  honor her on this important milestone in her life; now, therefore,
    2-4  be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  74th Legislature, hereby recognize Aley LaRue as a treasured
    2-7  citizen of her town and state, wishing her continued health
    2-8  and happiness; and, be it further
    2-9        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be presented to
   2-10  her as an expression of the admiration and high regard of the
   2-11  Texas Senate.
