    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in
    1-3  recognizing the Chapel of Praise of Houston, Texas, on the occasion
    1-4  of its 1995 annual Praise and Prayer Conference which is being held
    1-5  March 30 through April 2, 1995; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The theme of this year's conference is "Power in
    1-7  the Blood," and anointed men and women of God will teach the Word
    1-8  of God and minister to the sick and oppressed; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The Chapel of Praise has a membership of
   1-10  approximately 550 people and continues to grow rapidly; its
   1-11  ministry is based on Praise and Worship, Prayer, and the Teaching
   1-12  of the Word; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Evangelistic and community oriented, the Chapel
   1-14  of Praise has a strong Deliverance Ministry which is utilized by
   1-15  people across the country, a Youth Outreach Ministry, and a
   1-16  professional counseling service; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, The Chapel of Praise is committed to assisting
   1-18  families and helping men and women to maintain successful marriages,
   1-19  and the church has become an invaluable source of strength for its
   1-20  members during their hardships and in times of bereavement; now,
   1-21  therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-23  74th Legislature, hereby extend appreciation to Pastors Steve
    2-1  and Joy Onoja and to all who are members of the Chapel of Praise
    2-2  for their positive influence on communities across the country;
    2-3  and, be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
    2-5  for the Chapel of Praise as an expression of esteem from the
    2-6  Texas Senate.
