    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  extend congratulations to the Texas Southern University basketball
    1-4  team for its outstanding accomplishments; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, For the past two years, the Texas Southern
    1-6  University Tigers have won the Southwestern Athletic Conference
    1-7  title through their dedication, team spirit, and athletic ability;
    1-8  and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The basketball team features a talented group
   1-10  of young men who have displayed the balance and poise necessary to
   1-11  become champions; their success is a tribute to their individual
   1-12  discipline and their determination to excel; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Under the exceptional leadership of Head Coach
   1-14  Robert E. Moreland  and his assistants, Associate Head Coach
   1-15  Lacey Reynolds and Assistant Coach Andre Applewhite, the Texas
   1-16  Southern University Tigers have brought honor to themselves,
   1-17  their school, and their community; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, The 1993-1994 and 1994-1995 Texas Southern
   1-19  University basketball teams and their coaches are to be commended
   1-20  for their remarkable achievements; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, The 1993-1994 players were:  Kevin Adams,
   1-22  Herbert Baker, Corey Brotherton, Chris Carter, Theon Dotson,
   1-23  Thomas Foster, Edward Goodlow, Kevin Granger, Titus Howard,
    2-1  Anthony Jones, Herbert Ledee, Keenon Sanders, Aaron Warren,
    2-2  and Reginald Whittaker; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, The 1994-1995 players were:  Kevin Adams,
    2-4  Corey Brotherton, Randy Bolden, Chris Carter, Kevin Granger,
    2-5  Edward Goodlow, Damiene Humphrey, Anthony Jones, Gerard Maura,
    2-6  Marion Ray, Keenon Sanders, Joey Vidrine, Aaron Warren, and
    2-7  Reginald Whittaker; now, therefore, be it
    2-8        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-9  74th Legislature, hereby recognize the members of the Texas
   2-10  Southern University Tigers on their splendid accomplishments;
   2-11  and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
   2-13  for the team and the coaches as a token of the admiration of the
   2-14  Texas Senate with all best wishes for their future success.
