    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Legal Secretaries was
    1-3  founded on July 27, 1955, and is the oldest legal support
    1-4  organization in the state; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The membership of the Texas Association of Legal
    1-6  Secretaries includes legal support personnel, legal assistants,
    1-7  legal secretaries, and court support professionals; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The members of the Texas Association of Legal
    1-9  Secretaries demonstrate their professionalism and knowledge through
   1-10  continuing legal education and certification programs; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, There are currently 1,694 members of the Texas
   1-12  Association of Legal Secretaries working daily throughout the
   1-13  State of Texas; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, On May 20, 1995, the membership of the Texas
   1-15  Association of Legal Secretaries will be attending their annual
   1-16  conference in Midland, Texas, and will be celebrating 40 years of
   1-17  dedication to improving the legal services for the people of Texas;
   1-18  and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Declaring July 27, 1995, as Texas Association of
   1-20  Legal Secretaries Day gives all Texans an opportunity to appreciate
   1-21  the vital functions that legal secretaries, legal support personnel,
   1-22  legal assistants, and court support professionals perform; now,
   1-23  therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  74th Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Association of Legal
    2-3  Secretaries for its commitment to the delivery of quality legal
    2-4  services through continuing education and increased professionalism
    2-5  and for its 40 years of dedication and declare July 27, 1995, as
    2-6  Texas Association of Legal Secretaries Day.
