    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
    1-3  recognizing Lucila Trevino on the occasion of her recent selection
    1-4  as Raymond and Tirza Martin High School's first National Women's
    1-5  Month honoree; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, A longtime teacher and a leader in her community,
    1-7  Lucila Trevino is the mother of five children, David, Nelda,
    1-8  Christina, Daniel, and Roberto, and the wife of Laredo Independent
    1-9  School District Superintendent Vidal M. Trevino; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&I College, Mrs. Trevino
   1-11  began her successful career in education as a teacher in
   1-12  San Benito, Texas; she moved to Laredo in 1954 and taught at
   1-13  Leyendecker Elementary School before transferring to Ryan
   1-14  Elementary School in 1958; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, For the past 37 years, the students of Ryan
   1-16  Elementary School have benefitted from her skillful teaching
   1-17  methods, her sincere concern for the individual, and her wise
   1-18  counsel and encouragement; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, An exceptionally resourceful and dedicated teacher,
   1-20  she has distinguished herself in her profession and is highly
   1-21  respected by her colleagues and by the citizens of Laredo; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, Lucila Trevino is a source of
   1-23  strength to many, and she has devoted her life to the education
    2-1  of the youth of Texas and to the betterment of the Laredo community;
    2-2  now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  74th Legislature, hereby commend Lucila Trevino for earning the
    2-5  title of National Women's Month honoree and extend to her best
    2-6  wishes for many rewarding years ahead; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-8  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
