No. 594 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Ruby Caldwell on the joyous occasion of her 100th 1-4 birthday which took place February 9, 1995; and 1-5 WHEREAS, When Ruby Caldwell was born on February 9, 1895, 1-6 Grover Cleveland was president and native Indian tribes lived 1-7 in Burnet County; and 1-8 WHEREAS, During her lifetime she has witnessed two world 1-9 wars, the invention of the automobile and the airplane, and the 1-10 landing of astronauts on the moon; and 1-11 WHEREAS, The blessings of her sojourn in this world are 1-12 evident as she recalls tales of years past; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Today, she enjoys reminiscing and reading the paper 1-14 and takes pleasure in the companionship of family and friends; 1-15 she visits regularly with her youngest sister, 86-year-old Pinky, 1-16 who helps her with cooking and cleaning; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community, 1-18 she is noted for her exemplary courage and her enthusiasm for 1-19 living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-21 74th Legislature, hereby recognize Ruby Caldwell as a treasured 1-22 citizen of Moody, Texas, and wish her health and happiness; and, 1-23 be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to her as 2-2 a token of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-3 ______________________________________ 2-4 President of the Senate 2-5 I hereby certify that the above 2-6 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-7 on April 3, 1995. 2-8 ______________________________________ 2-9 Secretary of the Senate 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 Member, Texas Senate
