    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          Leonardo A. Goodman
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
    1-6  of El Paso in mourning the loss of Leonardo A. Goodman, Jr., who
    1-7  died February 22, 1995, at the age of 73; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of El Paso, Nardo Goodman was
    1-9  a well-known civic leader and humanitarian who devoted his time,
   1-10  energy, and funds to a wide array of organizations; he was a past
   1-11  chairman of United Way and a past president of the El Paso Jaycees
   1-12  and the El Paso Museum of Art Association; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, A man of many talents and an astute businessman, he
   1-14  was past director of State National Bank and the El Paso Electric
   1-15  Company, a past president of The University of Texas at El Paso
   1-16  Presidents Association, a founder of Paso Del Norte Jewish
   1-17  Historical Society, and past president of the John Hancock General
   1-18  Agents Association; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, He was past president of the El Paso Association
   1-20  of Life Underwriters, was named Life Underwriter of the Year, and
   1-21  was past president of the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, Nardo Goodman was respected
   1-23  in the community for his many accomplishments; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and exceptional
    2-2  generosity, he gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his
    2-3  wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those
    2-4  who knew him; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, Nardo Goodman was a devoted husband and father, and
    2-6  he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his
    2-7  family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
    2-8        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-9  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
   2-10  family of Leonardo A. Goodman, Jr.:  his wife, Eleanor Goodman; his
   2-11  sons, Leonard A. Goodman III and Walter H. Goodman; his daughter,
   2-12  Karla J. Goodman; his sister, Amelia G. Krohn; and his brother,
   2-13  Robert E. Goodman; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-15  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-16  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-17  in memory of Nardo Goodman.
