    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The occasion of a 100th birthday is an exceptionally
    1-3  splendid one and calls for great celebration, and so it was for
    1-4  Francisca Trevino of Mathis, Texas, when she was the guest of honor
    1-5  on her special day; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Francisca was born in Paras, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, on
    1-7  April 2, 1895, and she resided in Corpus Christi with her family for
    1-8  over 55 years; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Well known for her gracious charm, genuineness, and
   1-10  generosity of spirit, this lady is a beloved resident of Mathis
   1-11  Nursing Home; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Blessed with a warm smile and gentle nature,
   1-13  Mrs. Trevino is noted for her enviable calmness and serenity;
   1-14  Francisca has earned respect and friendship from all who know
   1-15  her; Mrs. Trevino and her late husband, Jeronimo Trevino, were
   1-16  members of the American G.I. Forum; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, The endearing memories of her long sojourn in
   1-18  this world are evident as she recalls tales of years past; the
   1-19  beloved mother of seven children, Mrs. Trevino was married to
   1-20  Jeronimo Trevino and devoted her life to her family; she is very
   1-21  proud of her 41 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Friends and relatives of this remarkable individual
   1-23  gathered at the Mathis Public Library on March 31, 1995, to honor
    2-1  her and share in commemorating her 100 wonderful years; now,
    2-2  therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  74th Legislature, hereby declare Francisca Trevino a treasured
    2-5  citizen of her town and state, with best wishes for her continued
    2-6  health and happiness; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-8  as an expression of the esteem of the Texas Senate and as a memento
    2-9  of this important milestone in her life.
