    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                       Rosabella Saldana Najera
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
    1-6  of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Rosabella Saldana Najera
    1-7  who died March 16, 1995, at the age of 51; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born May 26, 1943, in San Antonio, Rosabella Saldana
    1-9  graduated from Brackenridge High School and married Roger Najera
   1-10  on January 21, 1968; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Mrs. Najera was dedicated to her work as a
   1-12  registered day-care provider with Happy Homes, caring for children
   1-13  in her home in addition to raising her own two children; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, An exemplary lady with a gregarious personality,
   1-15  Rosabella was beloved and respected for her many accomplishments
   1-16  and for her engaging sense of humor; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Rosabella Najera lived her life to the fullest and
   1-18  enjoyed dancing and cooking and giving parties for her sisters
   1-19  and her friends; she faced her illness with valor, optimism, and
   1-20  faith, and in spite of her difficult battle, she was consistently
   1-21  sensitive, caring, and befriending; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A well-known community leader, she worked tirelessly
   1-23  as a volunteer at Saint Luke's Catholic School and often supervised
    2-1  field trips at her children's school; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, A woman of integrity, strength, compassion, and
    2-3  generosity, she gave unselfishly of her time to others, and her
    2-4  wisdom, warmth, and enthusiasm will not be forgotten by those who
    2-5  knew her; and
    2-6        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, she was a member of Our Lady of
    2-7  Guadalupe Catholic Church; and
    2-8        WHEREAS, Rosabella Najera was a devoted wife, mother, and
    2-9  grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured
   2-10  forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
   2-11        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-12  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
   2-13  bereaved family of Rosabella Saldana Najera:  her husband,
   2-14  Roger Najera; her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and
   2-15  Marguerite Najera; her daughter, Rebecca Najera; her mother,
   2-16  Elvira Saldana; her sisters, Elvira Lopez, Severina Garcia,
   2-17  Josie Espinoza, Dora Delgado, Ethel Saldana, Jo Ann Saldana, and
   2-18  Lucille Mendez; and her grandson, Devin Najera; and, be it further
   2-19        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-20  members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-21  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
   2-22  do so in memory of Rosabella Najera.
